Non-Profit Corporate Governance - 
Best Practices

Participants will learn the advantages and
disadvantages of a nonprofit 
corporation being recognized as exempt
under Section 501(c)(3) of the
IRS Code.
Topics will include: the legal constraints
imposed by having 501(c)(3) status;
minimizing exposure to personal liability;
adhering to the "corporate formalities";
conducting comprehensive self-
assessments to insure compliance with
legal requirements; and, adopting formal
policies that can improve corporate
governance.
