ECP color logoThe ECONOMIC COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP (ECP) is a network of public, private, and non-profit agencies throughout South Florida dedicated to assisting microbusinesses with business start-up and business expansion through technical assistance, training, and loans.

Our membership includes micro-lenders, small business development organizations, and educational institutions. We partner with municipal and county economic development agencies dedicated to microenterprise. In 2012, ECP members served more than 2,500 microbusinesses throughout Miami-Dade County.

Our vision is that all microentrepreneurs in South Florida have access to resources and services to build strong and successful businesses and communities.

HOW DO WE ASSIST MICROBUSINESSES?
The ECP can connect you with service providers throughout Miami-Dade County that provide no-cost or low-cost services to microbusinesses. Most providers offer bilingual services.

We can help you access the following services:

✔ Business Coaching
✔ Business Consulting
✔ Technical Assistance
✔ Access to Microloans
✔ Access to Community Banks
✔ Financial Planning
✔ Business Tax Preparation
✔ Free Workshops & Seminars

Over 80% of businesses in Miami-Dade County are classified as microbusinesses. The ECP’s goal is to connect these business owners to available business resources tailored to fit their needs. In addition, the ECP will provide valuable tools such as the following to support the success of microbusinesses:

MICROENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT WEBSITE
In 2014, the ECP will launch a comprehensive, interactive website dedicated to all things associated with Microenterprise Development. This one-stop website will provide essential tools and resources for both service providers and microbusinesses, including access to financing, business opportunities, trainings, and support.

MICROENTERPRISE SERVICE GUIDE
Through this Guide, business owners will have access to service providers throughout Miami-Dade County that provide low-cost or no-cost business development services. The Guide will also provide a list of professional services such as accountants, CPAs, insurance, marketing, and human resources consultants. The Guide will be available electronically and in print.

The Economic Community Partnership serves public, private, and nonprofit microenterprise programs that typically serve low to moderate income level individuals. Microenterprise programs provide microentrepreneurs a range of services including technical assistance, training and financing.

Microbusinesses are businesses with ten (10) or fewer employees requiring $50,000 or less in start-up capital. 91% of all businesses in the State of Florida are considered microbusinesses.
